Utilising our in-house freight forwarding software package which interfaces the HM Revenue and Customs ‘SAD Harmonisation (SAD H)’ system we are able to raise and submit Import declarations by direct trader input, which in most cases results in near immediate clearance. The staff employed on this department has extensive knowledge of Import facilities over a broad spectrum of imported commodities, and are pleased to advise our clients on issues of duty and import requirements. We strongly recommend Importers to investigate the possibility of restrictions with the DTI and us prior to shipping the goods into the UK.
Services in relation to Import consignments are as follows:-
- Completion of Import Customs declarations in all major UK ports
- Advice issued of Customs release and availability for haulage
- Submission of Bills of Lading and securing release of our client’s goods
- Arranging delivery to consignee as required
- Obtaining information on behalf of the Importer in relation to taxes and tariff codes
- Warehouse removals
- Bonded facilities
As with Import declarations, all Exports are cleared through Customs utilising ‘SAD Harmonisation (SAD H)’. Each consignment is issued with a unique consignment reference (UCR) at the time of booking. The UCR has to be given to the shipping line at the time of booking to enable shipment. On behalf of our clients we will also raise and arrange certification and legalisation (if required) with the appropriate consulate of European and Arab certificates of origin. This service also encompasses EUR1 and ATR1 preference certificates.
